A mesmerising fantastical tale told from the perspective of a young girl, Tom Lin’s second feature film tells the adventure of two youngsters in search of a lost Neverland in her memory.
Adapted from acclaimed Taiwanese illustrator Jimmy Liao’s picture book, Starry Starry Night is a beautiful lamentation of the loss of innocence. Thirteen-year-old Mei meets Lee, a new student at her school. Both of them feel like outsiders in their own lives; both of them are lonely and reclusive. They befriend one another and, one day, run away into the mountains. They are leaving in search of that piece of puzzle missing from their lives – only to find that, perhaps, they have been the missing pieces to each other’s puzzle all along.
